Now that all the permits have been signed, filed, and approved the building of our home can start. In the contract we agreed to be responsible for picking out all the appliances. I want a farmhouse sink and so the hunt begins. But where do we start?
What do I want in a farmhouse sink?
- Do I want an all white large butler Farmhouse kitchen sink?
- Do I want a stainless steel apron front sink?
- Do I want a divided sink bowl?
- How much am I willing to spend?
- What type of finish do I want?
One thing I do know is that I just love the look of a farmhouse sink. I just did a quick Google search and found out they are sold just about everywhere. Lowes, Wayfair, Overstock, Home Depot and the list goes on and on.
How much am I willing to spend depends on what type of finish I want the sink to have. The following is a list of the type of finishes that range in price from $425 to $2,000 and that’s only for the sink.
- Stainless steel
- Composite granite
- Porcelain or fireclay
- Copper
- Cast iron
If anyone has any suggestions please leave us a comment. If not stay tuned and I’ll keep posting as my search continues.
I like the large butter farmhouse sink
Thanks! I’m not sure exactly what I want, yet:)
I suggest stainless steel with an apron
Thanks for your comment! Stainless steel looks a little utilitarian.
